Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets)

A few weeks ago we celebrated Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.  It has been interesting to study the feasts of the Old Testament and learn new things.  For instance, some believe that ancient calendars record Creation as taking place the same time of year as Rosh Hashanah, thus the celebration of the "New Year" and the Birthday of the Earth.  Kind of neat to think about.  There is so much symbolism involved in the celebration.  Below is a globe with a crown on it, symbolizing that God is the King of the World   Then the round loaf symbolizing the fullness of the coming year, topped with a ladder symbolizing our prayers ascending to heaven.
